ANZAC COMMITTEE THANK THE COMMUNITY
On behalf of the Beechmont ANZAC Committee I would like to thank the Beechmont community for their support this ANZAC Day, despite the weather we were encouraged by the attendance at our service. The Beechmont State School students are a special part of our service and they presented their tasks with passion and respect.
The committee is thankful for the ongoing support from BRASA to cover the Public Liability Insurance for the service in Graceleigh Park.
Unfortunately, David our secretary has retired and he will be greatly missed as he put his heart and soul into continuing the traditions set out by the original committee. He has been part of ANZAC Day since day one in 1990.
The committee would welcome the younger generation to be involved so that we can continue to keep conducting ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services into the future.
The time is rapidly approaching where the ANZAC Committee will find itself unable to form a committee. This is due to age and health of our current members.
The Beechmont Anzac Day service is a longstanding and valued community event that brings together residents and visitors to commemorate those who have served our country. In addition to its cultural and commemorative significance, the event also provides tangible benefits to the local economy.
I cannot image not having a committee to conduct ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services for the community in Graceleigh Park.
I ask the community to seek out local interested people and passionately encourage them to become involved.
